Flagg Mountain is one of the southernmost mountains along the eastern seaboard, to be exact its 1,152ft. There is a four mile loop trail with yellow blazes on the mountain, and a connector trail to a spring for water. There are other connectors that will eventually connect to the Pinhoti Trail and the Coosa River.
Flagg Mountain is also the symbolic southern terminus of the Appalchian Mountain Trail. For hikers going north from Key West, FL, on the Eastern Continental Trail or from the Alabama/Florida state line to New York state on the Great Eastern Trail, Flagg Mountain is the first mountain they will see!
